Dengue in Kids

I know this is a late post already, perhaps I'm still in the recovery phase? Recovery from the stress of catching up things and deadlines from the tasks I had left when my 2 kids were admitted to the hospital. Yes, both of them at the same time. Ugh! My 6 year old son was diagnosed with pneumonia and my 4 year old daughter with Dengue. They had different diagnosis but they're both monitored for pneumonia and dengue, just being vigilant.

Easy Christmas Nail Art Designs

Hey there moms! Are you done doing your chores, particularly the laundry? Well, it's time for nail care! I usually do my nail art after washing plates or clothes because the cuticles were softened and it would make the nail routine easier and faster.

It's Christmas time so I'll be sharing here some of my easy nail art designs. These designs are easy as they only involves basic brushing and dotting technique. I only use toothpick as a dotting tool.

Printables: Grade 1 Questionnaires - 3rd Grading Prelim

Every mother is a multitasking worker. Yes, a 24/7 worker with the salary of love and affection. So much for the drama hahaha...I am sharing a tip for multitasking mommies - making questionnaires for your kid's exams.

This is a great help for me as I can leave my kids answering their questionnaires while I do my online job or the neverending mom-at-home household chores. Hahaha.

Printables: K1 Questionnaires - 3rd Grading Prelim

Hey moms! Are you in struggle in studying your kids for their periodic exams? If yes, then high five to us. But don't be too anxious or stressed as children learn naturally and gradually in their everyday life.

However, I have some printables to share as a little guide for your preschool. These are my K1's questionnaires that I made for her to answer and prepare her for the exam.

Upcycled Christmas Tree Decors

For the past 3 years in our own family home, we only had a small Christmas tree. It's only 2 feet tall which we think was good enough for a family of "small" like us. Hahaha! So last October, my 4-year-old daughter told me that she likes a bigger Christmas tree. And in a Frozen theme which means she wants blue and white to be dominant colors. Here's our simple Christmas tree and how we made some of its decors out of upcycled materials...

McDo Happy Meal: Super Mario

Since my father brought them to McDo, my kids would tell me "Ma, we went there with Papalo!" every time we pass by McDonald's beside Gaisano Mactan. So after church today, we had our lunch at the very same McDonald's they always point.

I know about McDonald's Happy Meal - the red box with the famous smile and a toy inside, however I am not updated of the toys they're offering. But recently, they launched their Happy Meal that features Super Mario!

DIY: Upcycled Christmas Wreath

Twenty Two Days to go and it's Christmas! Time to adorn our houses with the seasonal decorations to feel the yuletide essence. Though it's not necessary but when you have kids at home, they'll be the ones to tell you to. So aside from the Christmas tree, I have this Christmas wreath which I made out of the upcycled materials I found at home.

Pospas Recipe

Cold season is getting near. Whenever the weather is dropping, there's one thing we always have in mind - soup! One of which is Pospas. It is known for many names or similar with Arroz Caldo (for Spanish), congee (for Chinese) goto (served with tofu and pork) and lugaw or porridge (just a plain rice).

3 Ways to Keep Socks In Order

On your storage organization, the undies are the last ones to sort. But they are not the least. They may be small in pieces but they take up space in your closet when not properly organized. One of them are the pairs of socks.
Perhaps most of you know only one way to keep the socks in order...that includes me. And I also passed that method onto my kids as I teach them to fold and sort their own clothes already.

Here are the 3 methods to keep socks organized:

Camiguin Family Tour

Camiguin is an island in the Visayan Region of the Philippines. Its name was derived from the native word Kamagong, a kind of ebony tree that grows in Surigao del Norte where Manobos came from. Manobos were the early inhabitants of Camiguin who use the language, Kinamigin.

Bills Payment at 7-Eleven Cliqq

It's payday for some of you! And with it comes along the bills and payment time - things that bother me monthly. Whew! Because I am alone (with two kids, OFW hubby and no househelp) I need to discern how to insert the bills payment on my schedule. Time is of the essence, yes. So I really hate waiting in long lines (worst when standing) to pay bills especially when the kids are going with me as I don't leave my kids at home while I'm out for very long. Here are some ways I've used for my monthly bills payment:

DIY: Framed Wall Art

You can now spruce up your wall by repurposing the things you can just find lying around your house. I have read about home interior designs and learned that family pictures and awards should not be in the living room. So, this is what I did…

Royal Child Academy: Teachers' Day

Since October 5, 1994, World Teachers' Day is celebrated yearly to show appreciation and gratitude to our second parents - TEACHERS. This recognition has been implemented all over the world though in different dates because for some, they commemorate Teachers' Day in tribute for their local educator or milestone of their education, etc.

DIY: Personalized Gift Boxes

At home right after school, my kids told me they will give gifts or any presents for their teachers on Teachers' Day. My initial plan was to buy flowers and cake on our way to school first thing in the morning. But I realized I have newly bought cosmetics and haven't used them even once, so I gave them away too.

I wanted to make the gifts look dramatic for the special event - Teachers' Day. I have paper bags in stock, unfortunately, they're too big. It's awkward! Then I thought of making my own personalized gift boxes. Here's how:

Blog for a Cause: Breast Cancer Awareness

Do you already see pink ribbons anywhere or receive flyers with pink ribbon symbols on them? Well, it’s because National Breast Cancer Awareness Month is fast approaching – October.

It was 2 years ago that I posted Mesothelioma Cancer Awareness because of a fellow blogger and a cancer survivor, Heather Von St James, emailed me about her campaign.

Today, I’m doing this for a friend, my daughter’s godmother – Roselle Pino Casanoba. She is a mom like me. She is diagnosed with Breast Cancer 2 years ago after giving birth with their only daughter, Maxyne. And until today, she is still struggling to fight this illness.

How To Restyle an Old Shirt

As a mom at home, cleaning up my closet is one of my to-do’s on the list. Usually, I packed those slightly used and send to my Bohol relatives. Sometimes, those clothes are my prospect for DIY projects...just like this - refashion or restyle an old shirt:
